This display ad from the June 1949 issue of "Handbag Buyer", page 50 connects three handbag lines to this manufacturer's representative! Sterling Handbags SterlingHandbags was their reptile line, Rainbow Corde Handbags is their corde' line and lether bags were made by Kingsway Leather. Manufacturer's Representatives allowed slammer firms to have a sales presence in Manhatten without maintaining their own sales office and staff.

The "What's New in Handbags" column of "Handbag Buyer" June 1949, included news about Fank-Samberg's Fall 1949 line. These styles retailed for $1.69. (page 82)

"School requirements easily filled by neat envelope fitted with pad, pencil, comb and mirror in pocket under flap. Made of plastic calf grain in favorite fall colors with shoulder strap."
