Location July 1947: Morris Kreichman Chicago Office: Corde' was a rayon covered cord that was applied to fabric backing in geometric patterns. The glossy sheen of the rayon caught light beautifully, accentuating the patterns and line of the bag. Necessity was the mother of this invention, brought on by WWII materials shortages of leather, silk and metal. The bags were very popular and continued to be sold after the war. This Binocular Bag is very much in that wartime mode. ![]() |
