The family of Joseph Small, the founder of Suki Originals, has shared some history on the company for collectors. (Aug. 2, 2012.)

Sometime after a move to South Florida in November 1952, Joseph Small established Suki in Miami. He was the owner and initially they produced Lucite tops for prefabricated bottoms. Joseph, with the assistance of artist Natalie, soon designed and began production of the innovative multimedia bags for which Suki Originals is best known. heir bags were sold through Jordon Marsh department stores. A special design with Queen Elizabeth's royal crest was designed by Joseph Small and sent to Buckingham Palace.
