Artistic Art Deco style Beaded Pouch bag with abstract fruit designs. The earth tone palette of orange, terra cotta and forest green on a root beer brown background is a real knockout! Faceted black tubular beads outline and accentuate the design elements and the edge of the bag. The interior is fully lined in beige silk. There is no top closure... There is one area of old repair and slight bead loss (see detail) under one handle. Measures 6 1/4 x 7 1/2".

Carry your good luck with you in this Blue and Green Shamrock design beaded bag. The navy blue and blue-green leaf shapes are highlighted with bits of pink and cranberry, adding depth and interest. The arched frame is embellished with a vine and berry pattern and shows some plating wear near the latch. The design is identical, front and back. The interior is lined in spotless navy sateen with a single open pocket. Excellent condition inside and out. Measures 6 x 9" to the bottom of the fringe with a 14" circular link chain handle.

Unusual chocolate brown beaded reticule has a look reminiscent of Indian blankets. Its diamond diagonal pattern in clear beads allows the tan body color of the knit foundation fabric to glow through. The bag is in excellent condition with all original drawstring, beading and bottom dangle. New beige embroidered silk lining and edge braid has been added {see detail.} Measures 6 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches.

6) Inventory # 980857: Floral Glass Beaded Bag on German Silver Gate-top Compact Frame
This beautiful glass beaded floral bag arrived with a damaged crochet top and tow tiny pinholes. Geometric sawtooth borders edge the wide top band and frame the cornucopia pie section bottom band. The multicolor floral designs are well balanced and gleam from the subtle beige ground. The original beaded tassel, while present, was a bit shabby and has been appended to restore its former glory. The body was matched to the German silver gate-top frame with bezel set faceted amethyst stone atop the tiny flip-up compact in the lid. The original beige fabric lining was sound and has been retained. I think you will find this little jewel flawless. Measures 4 5/8" x 8" long.

7) Inventory # A00167: Genteel floral still life Beaded Bag
A genteel floral still life is perched atop a vibrant blue-footed bowl on both front and back of this elegant beaded bag. The composition is balanced top and bottom with a green ivy border and green and silver fringe. All beading is entirely original and is in excellent condition. The silver hemisphere frame is a vintage replacement. The damaged lining has been replaced with forest green silk, but the vintage lining edge trim is original {see detail.} The condition is flawless but the bag has a tendency to torque slightly when empty despite retraining efforts. Measures 6 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches. $275

8) Inventory # 980245: Navy Steel Beaded Reticule
classic navy blue steel beaded reticule bag is a prime example of this late 19th century style. The Greek key pattern in two sizes forms horizontal bands, separated by areas of twinkling individual beads. The fold over cuff around the top is trimmed in an intertwined beaded fringe. A silver chain threaded through rings closed the bag. A few of the beads have lost some luster and occasionally one shows some rust. Newly relined with navy silk. Measures 5 x 7 inches with a 3-inch tassel.

9) Inventory # D00128: Precious Plum Piecrust Beaded Coin Purse
Precious is the word for this elegant plum glass beaded coin purse Evelyn Haertig attributes the origin of the knit circular piecrust form to Russia in her book "Restoring and Collecting Antique Beaded Purses." This example is designed with 7 sections and is identical front and back. The beads are vibrant and complete and are small at over 250 per square inch. I've replaced the lining with a vintage silk in a slightly darker shade of plum. Recently restored by my own hand, I have to say it is a gem in flawless condition. Measures 2 1/4 x 3".

11) Inventory # A00172: Very rare Victorian Beaded Silk Velvet pouch bag
Very rare example of a Victorian Silk Velvet pouch bag with all the classic and desirable features PLUS outstanding condition! The fabulous beaded trapezoidal lid faces the front of the bag and latches with a metal ball fitting. The interior surface of the lid is fitted with a beautifully beveled full size mirror. Fully lined in spotless peach faille. The bag includes a matching faille coin purse which is attached to the bag’s frame with a gold twisted cord. While very slight nap wear can be seen on the corners of the lid, the 14" velvet handle and the rest of the bag show no visible defects. Don’t you love the snazzy silk tassel? The body of the bag measures 10 1/2 x 6 1/4 x 1".

There is nothing fragile about this substantially constructed black beaded handbag by Walborg Japan. The curvilinear design with triangular accents reminds me of the top of the Empire State Building, rendered in round glass beads and faceted short glass tubular beads which highlight the design’s curves. The design is identical front and back. The 1” wide 11” handle is fully beaded, top and bottom. The bag’s interior is fully lined in spotless black satin. There is a large central plastic zip pocket that divides the interior in half. The bag has expandable side gussets so it holds more than one might expect! Measures 6 x 1 3/4 x 5 1/2”.

This charming Gold Beaded bag by Walborg Taiwan features 3 dimensional beaded flowers on the front of the bag, best appreciated in the detail picture. The gold metal frame is embellished front and back with 1/2” wide Lucite panels embossed with gold roses. The interior is fully lined in spotless gold satin with a single open pocket. The elegant oval hasps are both trimmed with a large inset rhinestone. The handle is 14” gold snake chain. Slight apparent darkening of a few of the bottom beads may actually be an optical trick of the light, as it appears only at right angle turns in the beaded design. It’s a stunning bag in excellent condition. Measures 8 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 5 1/2”.

Beautifully rendered hand beaded White Evening bag features stylized leaf forms in opaque and translucent ivory beads, outlined in contour rows of opaque white beads front and back. The stunning metal clasp is encrusted in translucent beads and prong set rhinestones. The latch lifts to reveal a pristine white satin interior. A single small open pocket houses a daity square mirror and spotless white satin coin purse. Apparently unused, the bag is in outstanding condition. Measures 9 x 6 x 1 1/2" with a 12" handle.
