The unusual color and shape make this 50's gray leather box bag a treasure. The front surface is 2 inches shorter than the back surface and carries the belt type snap closure that fastens to the lid. The interior is fully lined in spotless black moiré and features a gold edged open pocket. A double-sided vintage mirror in the original tissue is included. There is some surface variation in the color of the leather and one spot on the back. {See detail} Structurally the bag is pristine. Measures 8 x 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

Box bags were the rage in the early 50s and this is a cutie! The sides make for a sculptural trapezoidal shape. The wide strap handle is mounted to the top with shiny brass straps. A gold turn style latch fastens the envelope flap. Spotless red leather lines the interior and forms the open pocket whose front carries a metal zip pocket. Unmarked but solidly constructed. Excellent condition. Measures 10 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 4"

A dignified Dove Gray bag by Andrew Geller. The unusual silver loop latch opens by turning the bottom fitting counterclockwise. The contoured envelope flap opens to reveal a shiny off-white satin interior with one open and one metal zip pocket. Some slight abrasion to the glossy satin indicates light use. Several tiny rough spots are present on the interior of the flap. Measures 8 ½ x 2 ½ x 6 ½” with 11” handle.

Great accordion style black leather bag by Aries Mexico with a wonderful silver Hoop Art Deco clasp and silver frame. The gusset areas are free from the frame, allowing the bag to open wide. The tan suede interior features one open and one metal zip pocket. The lining shows some pen marks and one stain on an inner gusset surface. There is some wear, but it's a lovely, ample sized, sturdy bag with real flair. Measures 11 3/4 x 1 x 9 1/4" with a double layer 14" handle.

Artcraft Gray Faux Ostrich Leather Handbag
Stylish and substantial, this remarkable bag by Artcraft Bag Studios has a lot to offer! It is certainly dignified, but not stuffy. Two spherical rivets secure the top ends of the handle, joining the middle in a shiny gold link. The other handle ends attach to the body behind gold metal plates. flat side panels cover the side gussets, presenting a neat, sculptural look. The gold rectangle box latch lifts to reveal a beautiful black leather lined interior, marked with the Artcraft logo above and open pocket, lined in the gray leather of the body. Below this pocket there are 3 more open pockets with included vintage mirror and comb residing in their own places. A large metal zip pocket inhabits the opposite side 9of the interior. Defects include a few chips in the gray finish of the handle and bottom corners and flexure wear at both ends of the handle (see detail.) Measures 8 3/4 x 4 x 8 1/4".

Beautiful Bienen-Davis black leather and suede in patterned with alternating stripes of shiny and matte leather. The hook latch and handle hardware sparkle! The interior is divided down the center by a partition that houses a large eggshell satin lined open pocket that holds a black satin tethered coin purse. Fully lined in pristine black satin with one large metal zip and 2 open pockets. Some slight abrasion on the leather covering the back of the frame, otherwise excellent condition. Just loved this Black Suede pouch bag at first sight! The style points to a late 40's-early 50's date. Black matte taffeta glows behind the cut work trim on the envelope flap. The gold metal latch flips forward, releasing the flap, threaded onto a metal pin through an eyelet. The immaculate black taffeta lining matches the taffeta used on the flap trim and is fitted with divided gold-corded open pocket and a metal zip pocket. The Talon zipper points to a US maker. Excellent condition inside and out. Measures 8 x 2 1/2 x 7 1/2".

Brown reptile convertible shoulder bag with hand stitched edge detail. Black and brown detailing of the skin is most handsome. The double 15” handles can slide out to form a 27” shoulder bag strap. The twin snap latch shows some rust and discoloration that fortunately doesn’t show when the bag is closed. The interior is fully lined in medium brown leather with two large open pockets. There is no maker’s mark, but the bag is of South American origin. Measures 9 ¼ x 2 ¼ x 8 ½”.
