This 1927 Richard Hudnut gold tone loose powder vanity case is illustrated in blue enamel on page 84 of “Compacts” by Mueller. The stylized tulip design is accentuated by deep red enamel on the lid. The back is elaborately engine turned in a spiral design. The case is signed on the powder door. A spring button opens the case. The Framed double-sided mirror serves and the cover for the rouge compartment in the lid which still carries the vintage cosmetic. The original puffs are present. The finish of the powder door is darkened as is one spot on the engine turned shoulder of the front. Two tiny flea bites are present along the edge of the case and a several pinpoint size enamel flaws are barely visible. Measures 2 5/8” in diameter.
