Carl-Art Inc. of Providence RI featured sterling jewelry, plated in 12k gold in the months before Pearl Harbor. Wartime materials shortages and luxury taxes soon cut off production. The design patent number dates this pin to 1941. The large 3 ½ x 2” size and 2-tone color make this a prime example of this pre-war jewelry style. Excellent condition.
