Whiting & Davis Alumesh Handbag ca 1936 with Bakelite frame and celluloid chain. In order to increase bag size without adding weight, Aluminum was used instead for more usual brass. The unusual Pretzel Frame, Gumdrop Latches and hefty celluloid chain make this a desirable example of the style, in fact the best I|ve seen of this type. The interior is fully lined in navy blue faille and carries the Whiting & Davis fabric label. Condition is excellent, inside and out. Measures 11 x 2 x 6" with a 14" handle.
