A Versatile 3-Way convertible bag by Sidney of California. This classic 50|s design features a removal panel with shiny black vinyl on one side and off white matte vinyl on the other. This design was patented (2,809,685) to Edward R. Lowy of Lowy & Mund October 15, 1957. I suspect this bag was either made after the duration of the patent or was licensed from Lowy & Mund for production by Sydney. The loops on the top corners attach to the spring-loaded tabs on the frame of the bag. The body of the bag itself is covered in navy faille. With its costume, this bag can be worn with most anything. The bag|s handle is a strip of curved clear Lucite. The interior navy taffeta lining shows edge discoloration and wear, especially to the front edge of the single open pocket. Measures 9 x 2 1/2 x 7 1/4".

This item was part of the archives of the Bag Lady Emporium, originally in operation from 1996 through 2022 (Inventory ID A00472). It sold for $40.00.
