Goldtone and rhinestone Fur Clip in Ying-Yang type pattern. Patent number on back dates to 1948. The design by Alfred Philippe was granted October 26, 1948 and was assigned to Trifari, Krussman & Fishel, Inc. They patented the front as a "Design for Brooch or Similar Item," permitting the same protected pattern to be used on a variety of pieces for 7 years. This pin is features on page 91 of "Vintage Jewelry" by Caroline Cox. Measures 1.75 x 1.25 inches. Some wear and minor rhinestone darkening, but a beautiful early Trifari piece. For wear on coats and furs. Back attachment is 2 long pointed prongs with unusual safety clasp.
