A remarkable Collector|s Treasure, this Victorian coin purse with Mother of pearl and sterling overlay is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The front and back are sold panels of Mother of Pearl. The beautifully engraved front medallion shows Knights in Armor in ovals interlocking in an elaborate larger filigree oval. These are surrounded by vines and tiny flowers all enclosed in a diamond pattern engraved frame. The oval latch pushes down to open. The interior is constructed of gold silk, trimmed in royal blue. This royal blue material, probably kid leather, covers the metal frame and shows considerable wear. This piece is recommended for its magnificent display qualities and is too fragile for use. Measures 3 x 1/2 x 2 1/4".
