natural or black are gayly trimmed with leather, velvet and novelty ornaments by Midas of Florida, featured at Crown Originals, 347 Fifth Ave. Gold leather, which is sky-rocketing in importance for summer, gives a neat, tailored look to varying shapes of straw handbags. Velvet and satin, usually encrusted with shells or jewels, are seen in all the high-fashion shades for spring. All kinds of novelty decorations with a great deal of originality appear in the line. Some of the shapes shown are a dog house, a sewing basket, large squares, buckets and bread baskets. All of the trims are available on any of these shapes or in any of the three colors. Retail is from $15 to $50."
