Accessory market round-up

"A novel bag at Richcraft is built around four calf covered brass tipped legs. In a vagabond shape, it has a back flap that is hinged on. The 1960s

Details on the Rich Craft Fall 1961 line are to be found on page 59 of the June 1961 "Handbags & Accessories."

"Both alligator and calf are fashioned into an attractive handbag line at Rich-craft Bag Co., 12 E. 33rd St. The alligators wil be available in brown and black in both large and small styles. The calf line, of finest Ohio calf, will be in all the fall shoe colors including the staple black, brown, and navy. The bags are leather-lined, in slim, tailored shapes. Spanish antelope is also shown. One particular bag in antelope is decorated with a Florentine-gold finish bar. The Rich Craft bags retail from $22.50 up."

The "Handbag Briefs" column on the same February 1961 issue detailed the Spring line.

Hand-made imitation petit-point

"is a new feature at Rich Craft Bags, 12 E. 33 St. The delicate pattern is done in pastels on a beige background. The bag is calf trimmed and lined in bone, black and coffee cream and will retail for approximately $28.50. Another unusual bag has a "pick-pocket proof" frame. Clamps slip over either end of the frame so the bag cannot be opened until these clamps are released. In black, brown, navy, white or patent, this model will also retail for $28.50. All of the patent bags at Rich Craft are being made of an exclusive genuine patent leather which is guaranteed not to crack. One patent bag has a gun-metal frame with the added decorative touch of a brushed gold clasp."
